Huann-Sheng Chen is a mathematical statistician and program director in the Statistical Methodology and Applications Branch (SMAB) of the Surveillance Research Program, Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to his appointment at NCI, Dr. Chen was an associate professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences and an affiliated faculty member in the Biotechnology Research Center at Michigan Technological University (MTU).
At SRP, Dr. Chen's research areas focus on statistical genetics and genetic epidemiology. He has also been involved in research on the patterns of cancer incidence rates adjusted for reporting delay, and cancer mortality projections in national and local populations.
