Ms. Howlader is a Mathematical Statistician in the Data Analysis and Interpretation Branch (DAIB) within the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Her research interests involve developing statistical models and methods that pertain to cancer surveillance issues. Ms. Howlader is interested in statistical analyses of population-based studies for monitoring the national cancer burden, and interpreting cancer rates and trends.

Ms. Howlader received her M.S. in Biostatistics from the University of Washington in 2002. Prior to joining the National Cancer Institute in 2006, she held a position as a Statistical Research Associate at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center from 2003-2005 in Seattle. Ms. Howlader is a recipient of the 2011 NIH Merit award.
