Trish Murphy joined the Surveillance Research Program (SRP) as a program analyst with Kelly Services in 2012.  Trish previously worked at NCI from 2004 to 2006 as a full-time summer Cancer Research Training Award fellow at SRP, where she assisted with the calculation of cancer incidence, mortality, and survival rates.  In her new position, Trish works with Rachel Benkeser in strategic planning and special projects.

Trish holds both a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Maryland.  She is also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).  Her previous work experience includes positions as a graduate assistant at Loyola’s Office of Alumni Relations and a chemical dependency counselor at the Kolmac Clinic in Towson, Maryland.  Most recently, Trish served as the Assistant Director of Clinical Services at the Kolmac Clinic. As Assistant Director, she supervised 10 clinicians in providing therapeutic interventions in an outpatient substance abuse facility and established a graduate-level externship program in partnership with Loyola University Maryland.

Outside of the office, Trish is active in a variety of volunteer organizations.  Among many other volunteer projects, she helped keep the ocean and waterways clear of trash as part of International Coastal Cleanup and brought the holiday spirit to homeless children through Dreams For Kids - Holiday for Hope.

Trish also enjoys travel, spending time with her pug Tripper, and playing and watching soccer.
