Director of the National Technical Information Service (NTIS)

Bruce Borzino

Bruce Borzino was appointed Director, National Technical Information Service (NTIS), on November 9, 2009. Prior to his appointment, Bruce had served as NTIS Deputy Director and Chief Operations Officer. In that capacity, he was responsible for directing NTIS operations and developing new lines of business that were consistent with the NTIS mission and would generate stable revenue streams to ensure that NTIS continues to operate as a cost recovery agency.

Bruce has extensive experience in the federal and private sectors. He came to NTIS from the General Services Administration where, as Director, Electronic Business Systems, he introduced several new Electronic Government public services. Prior to joining the Federal Government, he held a number of management and consulting positions with the Anteon Corporation, now part of General Dynamics. Before that, Bruce held a number of critical acquisition positions for the United States Army as a certified Level III Defense Acquisition Program Manager.

Bruce is committed to promoting American science and technology, innovation and economic growth by broadening and accelerating the collection of scientific, technical, and engineering information products into the NTIS permanent collection and employing technologies that allow the public and industry to access and acquire NTIS information products effortlessly. He is equally committed to developing new technologies and information solutions to assist other Federal agencies in accomplishing the technology and information needs of their own constituencies.

Bruce holds Masters Degrees in Management and Information and Computer Science.
