Presentation to Cooperative Group Chairs

On November 29, 2010, NCI leaders presented an initial plan for transforming the Clinical Trials Cooperative Group Program focusing on the recommendations regarding consolidation of the adult groups and integration of the entire Program. NCI and the Group Chairs are in ongoing discussions concerning how best to address the IOM recommendation that there be a consolidation from 10 U.S.-based Cooperative Groups to a maximum of four adult groups and one pediatric group. This initial presentation provides a starting point for discussion about consolidation as well as other aspects of transforming the Program.
