It's not a "recession" it has been a transformation of the U.S economy to a low wage service sector economy with low wages, no unions. This means working longer hours for less pay and a lower standard of living. It also means a unhealthy population both physically, socially and psychologically which are driving many problems.

That's a ridiculous argument. With the jobless rate, do you think anyone would be kept if they didn't perform, even at wages as they are now? I just know the super rich are doing better than ever. Seems like they can afford to pay their workers better.

We are in a recession in part because of the irresponsible banksters and in part because of the hobbling of the economy by the GOP in Congress. We should be putting money in NOT taking it out!

Minimum wage seems nice, and if you think about from an economical sense, it will help those who have their job secured through productive work. But all those people who are not productive will get axed. Do you have any idea what minimum wage increases do to accountants? Do you know how hard it is to plan for future business when taxes, regulations, and laws increase/change constantly? The govt cant tie their shoelaces, you want them to manage the economy. I wonder why we are in a recession...

So you think it is better for those people to get paid $0 instead of current minimum wage? Yes we are in a recession, but you act as if once this recession is over, the govt is going to magically cut taxes and lower the minimum wage. Once the govt gets a higher tax, it doesnt let it go. The GOP should block min wage increases. Do you know what the Waltons are going to do when the min wage goes up? They will lay off the bottom of their workforce. Which will throw more people into welfare.

Obviously people work for minimum because they can't find anything else. Have you even heard we are in a recession? They are trying to raise minimum wage, but the GOP is blocking it. I call THAT force. If people shop at Walmart they are either ignorant or impoverished. I won't go in there.

Theft is taking something by force or deception. I will ask again, where are the guns pointed at people to go shop at Walmart or work for it? Nobody is forcing anyone to make the Waltons rich, the people do it willingly.

Not paying employees a living wage? So which walmart employees are all dying? If someone isnt getting paid enough to live, then they wont continue working there. Your mindset is hypocrisy. Like I said, if working for Walmart is so deadly and horrific, then why do so many people work for Walmart? If the Waltons are "evil" then why do millions of people go to Walmarts? The evil isnt Walmart, the evil is the customers. The people who willingly give their money to Walmart stores.

Yes, Walmart does steal. Not paying employees a living wage and taking advantage of foreign workers is theft. When they put up a new store they drive out other businesses in the area. MY TAX DOLLARS have to pay to help support their workers with food stamps because they're so stingy they can't pay a living wage. There is NO WAY I will ever, ever respect the Waltons. They are EVIL.

Just how am I a hypocrite exactly?

You should ask yourself how Walmart got so much wealth. It didnt steal it. Waltons didnt rob banks. They gained so much because millions and millions of people buy products from Walmarts. You have your opinions and I respect that. I would advise you to not do business with any Walton business if you feel strongly enough. But as long as millions of people still go there, I think this talk about their wealth is hypocrisy.

They gain wealth by giving other people the means to live. If you dont want to be dependent on an employer then gain understanding of an industry, then you could employ yourself. Nobody is forcing anyone to work or purchase from Walmart. It is like choosing to buy a Ford car then complaining that the Ford family is too rich.
