Administration on Aging

The mission of the Administration on Aging (AoA), one of the components of the Administration for Community Living within of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is to develop a comprehensive, coordinated, and cost-effective system of home and community-based services that helps elderly individuals maintain their health and independence in their homes and communities. According to CDC, 24 percent of people living with HIV nationwide are over the age of 50. Moreover, research indicates that by 2015, half of the people living with HIV in the U.S. will be over 50 years old. AoA provides resources for older Americans, aging professionals, and others interested in designing programs for older adults about the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS.
