Effective January 1, 2012, Arlington National Cemetery requires a copy of
the death certificate for all interments/inurnments. Additionally,
Arlington National Cemetery requires a certificate of cremation before
accepting cremated remains for interment/inurnment.
Agents of the licensed funeral service providers are required to sign a
"Transfer of Custody" document when delivering casketed and cremated remains
to Arlington National Cemetery. Primary Next of Kin is required to sign
"Transfer of Custody" document when hand carrying cremated remains to
Arlington National Cemetery.
Required documents must be received by Arlington National Cemetery before
services will be completed.
