NSGIC Comments on Geospatial Platform Roadmap

The National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) recently submitted feedback on the Geospatial Platform via IdeaScale. The Council submitted additional comments directly to the Federal Geographic Data Commission in a PDF document.

NSGIC recommends that the Platform build upon the successes of the following federal geospatial programs:

• NOAA's Digital Coast
• USDA's National Agriculture Imagery Program
• EPA's National Data Exchange Network
• National Telecommunications Information Administration's Broadband Mapping Program

NSGIC also suggests strategies for business planning, managing funds, and building partnerships with the private sector and Open GIS.
