Compatibility & Certification
The caBIG® Compatibility Guidelines v3.0 provide guidelines for achieving caBIG® compatibility. The document provides a set of definitions that can be used to evaluate the maturity level of potential caBIG® systems and applications. The Compatibility Guidelines v3.0 were released on 5/1/2008.
- caCORE Training - caCORE Training teaches members of the caBIG® community how the caDSR fits into the caCORE Infrastructure, the role of the CORE Infrastructure in caBIG® compatibility, and how to use caDSR tools to search for, retrieve, analyze, and curate caDSR common data elements (CDEs). Tools covered include the CDE Browser, UML Model Browser, Curation Tool, Form Builder Tool, Sentinel Tool, caCORE Software Development Kit (SDK), and the Semantic Integration Workbench (SIW).
Supplemental Specifications
- caGrid Specifications: Details the relevant specifications and policies associated with the current production caGrid environment of caBIG®. While caGrid tooling obviates the need for developers to have a detailed understanding of these specifications, they are provided as reference when said tooling can't be leveraged.

Compatibility Certification Process
- caBIG® Silver Compatibility Review Process: The majority of developer projects in caBIG® target Silver level compatibility. This section describes review processes for caBIG®-funded developer projects and lists the status of products (passed review, under review). Access list of tools that are silver compatible.
- Bronze Compatibility Certification Program: The caBIG® Bronze certification program is a mechanism for software products not created as part of the caBIG® program to be certified as compliant with the caBIG® compatibility guidelines at the Bronze level. This section describes the certification process and lists the status of products (passed review, under review). Access list of bronze certified tools.
- Legacy: Implies no interoperability with an external system or resource. A system that was designed without awareness of or prior to the availability of these compatibility guidelines, and which does not meet any of the requirements for interoperability.

Community Feedback - Community feedback on a draft version of the Compatibility Guidelines v3.0 was incorporated to generate the final released version. The Community Feedback Document summarizes all comments received as well as the responses from the Architecture and VCDE participants tasked to generate the Guidelines.
Feature Request Tracker - This tracker was originally used to collect additional suggestions from the community for updates to the Guidelines.
Previous Version of Compatibility Guidelines: caBIG® Compatibility Guidelines (v2.0): Provided for reference purposes only, this document is Version 2.0 of the compatibility guidelines, released on 7/7/2005. (Community Feedback Contributing to Version 2.0) (Earlier Drafts of Version 2.0 - 4/5/2005)
