January 6, 2011- This meeting covered comments regarding Electronic Data Use Agreement (E-DUA) Project Materials.
December 2, 2010- This meeting covered the Electronic Data Use Agreement (E-DUA) Project Discussion – Update and Next Steps.
October 7, 2010- This meeting covered Knowledge Center Feedback, 2010 caBIG ® Annual Meeting Debrief, Electronic Data Sharing and Security Framework (E-DSSF) Update, and finally Electronic Data Use Agreement (E-DUA) Project Description.
September 2, 2010- During this meeting, the DSIC workspace continued to work on comments to the proposed HITECH HIPAA rules and the implications for the research community. The draft comment letter will be circulated to the DSIC WS shortly and participants are encouraged to continue submitting comments to
August 5, 2010- During this meeting, the DSIC workspace focused on the Proposed HITECH HIPAA Rules and its implications for the research community. Information regarding DSIC workspace's contribution to this effort will be distributed via the DSIC listserv in the near future. Although the group did not have an opportunity to discuss the 2010 caBIG® Annual Meeting, detailed descriptions of the DSIC related sessions are provided in this month's meeting minutes.
June 3, 2010- During this meeting the DSIC workspace focused on two topics. The meeting opened with an announcement regarding the opening of registration for the 2010 caBIG® Annual Meeting. Additionally, the DSIC work plan for the upcoming year was discussed. It reflects an interest in encouraging more active community engagement in the workspace by having workspace participants drive what resources are created in the DSIC space and identifying issues of interest.
May 6, 2010- During this meeting the DSIC workspace discussed several topics. The meeting opened with a discussion surrounding the DSIC knowledge center team’s progress on developing content for the E-DSSF. The team is concurrently developing content for the DUA Creation Tool. Additionally, participants provided feedback regarding the DSIC workplan.
April 1, 2010- During this meeting the DSIC workspace discussed: E-DSSF development status; “Introduction to caGrid Technologies and Data Sharing” paper; whitepaper on consumer consent options for electronic health information exchange discussion; contractual and proprietary decision support tools; summary of the HHS Workshop on the HIPAA Privacy Rule’s De-Identification Standard.
February 4, 2010- During this meeting the DSIC workspace discussed: E-DSSF Feedback; caBIG® 2010 Annual Meeting; FDA Proposed Rule Regarding Informed Consent Elements
December 3, 2009- During this meeting the DSIC workspace discussed: Ethics Research in the Electronic Medical Records and Genomics (eMERGE) Consortium – Wylie Burke, University of Washington, El="ectronic Data Sharing and Security Framework (e-DSSF) Prototype Walkthrough – DSIC Knowledge Center, Knowledge Center update on comments on the GINA Rule and the Data Use Agreements tool
November 5, 2009 - During this meeting the DSIC workspace discussed: Presentation by Science Commons regarding the Automated Data Use Agreements Project, Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act – Research Implications of the Interim Final Rule, Update from the DSIC Knowledge Center
September 3, 2009 - During this meeting the DSIC workspace discussed: HHS Breach Notification Rules Overview,Retention/Use of Newborn Screening Blood Spots – Status of the Secretary’s Advisory Committee, Update from the DSIC Knowledge Center
August 6, 2009 - During this teleconference the group had a debreif from the recent caBIG® Annual Meeting which was then followed by a disucssion about the E-DSSF.
July 2, 2009 - During this teleconference the group discussed: updates on the DSSF development, Annual Meeting preparations, an update from the DSIC Knowledge Center, and DSIC outreach efforts.
June 4, 2009 - During this teleconferece the DSIC Knowledge Center provided an update to the workspace about their recent activities. The workspace was then provided with an update to the ARRA/GINA regulations.
May 7, 2009 - During this teleconference an update on the DSIC KC/Science Commons work on data sharing agreements was provided, discussion about the Data Sharing Sessions at the caBIG® Annual Meeting, and a disucssion about HITECH Act Breach Notification Guidance.
April 2, 2009 - During this teleconference the DSIC workspace received an update from the DSIC Knowledge Center on the development of a DSIC related glossary, discussed the Contractual Considerations Decision support tool, discussed automating the Data Sharing and Security Framework (DSSF) Decision support tools, and ended the meeting is a discussion about potential DSSF Support Service Provider (SSP) announcements.
March 5, 2009 - Presentation by Ethical, Legal and Policy (ELP) subgroup of the NCI Biospecimen Coordinating Committee (BCC) on the draft revised NCI Best Practices for Biospecimen Resources.
February 5, 2009 - The DSIC Workspace discussed: Updates from the DSIC Knowledge Center, Intellectual Property Considerations Decision Support Tool discussion, discussion of IOM report brief, HITECH Act discussion.
