Henry (Hank) Fleming

Henry (Hank) Fleming is Director for Special Supervision in Midsize and Community Bank Supervision at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Mr. Fleming oversees the supervision of the OCC's most critical problem midsize and community banks. His division develops and implements rehabilitation or resolution strategies for assigned banks, including the orderly management of bank closings, when necessary. His group also supervises headquarters-based fraud specialists and their activities. Mr. Fleming assumed his current duties in 2009.

Mr. Fleming joined the OCC in 1992 following 10 years of commercial and commercial real estate lending experience in the mid-Atlantic region. He was commissioned a National Bank Examiner in 1995 while assigned to the Washington DC Field Office. He performed extensive OCC problem bank work in the field, moved to Headquarters to the Special Supervision Division as a Problem Bank Specialist in 2006.

Throughout his career, has managed numerous bank closings and also overseen the rehabilitation of many troubled institutions.

Mr. Fleming is a Certified Fraud Examiner and earned a bachelor of arts degree in Economics and Political Science in 1977 from Union College.
