Assistant Education Secretary Deb Delisle to Visit Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore to Discuss School Turnaround and College and Career Readiness

U. S. Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education Deb Delisle will visit Frederick Douglass High School at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, in Baltimore, Md. Delisle will visit students and meet with school administrators and teachers to learn about their turnaround efforts. The discussion will highlight initiatives that have been undertaken to support student learning, as well as resources that prepare students for graduation and success in college and careers. Some of the school’s turnaround efforts include improving school data; developing small learning academies and an early college model; and implementing unique programs such as the “HSA Blitz,” “Operation Graduation,” and “Karate Kid Mentoring.”
