Vehicular Insurance: Losses due to Intoxication
Streamlined home page - The material presented on the home page was revised to provide new users with a clearer indication of the information available through APIS.
New names for major sections of the site - The titles for the two major sections of the site were changed: "Detailed Information on Selected Alcohol Policy Topics" is now "APIS Policy Topics" and "Archive of Alcohol-Related Bills and Regulations" is now "Enacted Bills and Adopted Regulations."
Policy changes over time view displays only jurisdictions with changes - The default display of the "Policy changes over time" comparison tables in the APIS Policy Topics section was modified to display only jurisdictions with changes in the relevant time period. An option is available to display all data regardless of whether there has been a change, which is how the table displayed previously. The Current Search Criteria panel has been revised to reflect the display option selected.
Modified comparison tables for Underage policy topics - A "Prohibited" column was added to the "Policies in effect on a specific date" and "Policy changes over time" tables for Possession, Consumption, Purchase, and Furnishing to clarify that these tables display exceptions to general prohibitions against underage consumption, etc. (Some States do not explicitly prohibit the activity, and therefore do not have exceptions.)
Full-text search for the Enacted Bills and Adopted Regulations section - The full-text search option near the bottom of the Enacted Bills and Adopted Regulations search page is now available by default rather than only after requesting it.
Federal Law pages revised - All of the Federal Law pages now link to the explanation of the 21st Amendment and the Commerce Clause on the About Alcohol Policy page.
Corrections and Clarifications
One of the Explanatory Notes and Limitations Applicable to All APIS Policy Topics was revised to clarify that APIS does not review judicial decisions.
In the course of updating policy topics to 1/1/2004, modifications were made to some relevant text excerpts for prior years to increase uniformity of the excerpts on APIS.
