Older adults are in an excellent position to volunteer. Volunteering offers a range of opportunities for older adults to share their knowledge, skills and talents while staying socially and physically active.

Older volunteers have always been the backbone of programs administered under the Older Americans Act (OAA). Volunteers help in many ways, including assisting at group meal sites; delivering meals to the home-bound elderly; escorting and transporting frail older persons to their doctor’s office; and visiting homebound elderly in long term care facilities. Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS)
The Corporation is an independent federal agency and the nation’s largest grantmaker supporting service and volunteering. Through the Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America programs, the Corporation provides opportunities for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to address critical community needs.

Serve.gov
The website is a comprehensive clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities across the country and around the world. Serve.gov is managed by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

VolunteerMatch
Volunteer Match is a national nonprofit that helps individuals find volunteer opportunities by location, interest area, and/or keyword.
