  3. The U.S. Navy Museum Cold War Gallery opens to the public on Tuesday, October 9th! Due to a special event on October 10th-11th, the U.S. Navy Museum will be closed to the public. The Cold War Gallery will remain open for visitors.

  6. Meet a Master Commandant from the War of 1812 on the afternoon of September 21 in the National Museum of the United States Navy, Washington Navy Yard. Mike Bosworth (commander, USN, retired), will answer questions about the US Navy during the war on the gundeck. Oliver Hazard Perry and Thomas Macdonough, both held the rank of master commandant when the won their victories on Lakes Erie and Champlain.
  7. Free performances of War of 1812 music by Yankee Frolics at the National Museum of the United States Navy, Washington Navy Yard, 21 September at 11:45 am and 3:00 pm.
  8. Come visit the PRIDE of BALTIMORE II this Thursday and Friday from 1-4 along the River Walk. To visit the National Museum of the U.S. Navy, all adults need a photo ID and to enter the yard at the 11th and O St Visitor’s Center.
