Capt. Capt. Jay Kadowaki, commanding officer of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division, places flags at the grave of his uncle, U.S. Army Spc. Robert Kadowaki, who served during the Vietnam War, before speaking at the 32nd annual Memorial Day observance at Riverside National Cemetery. Kadowaki reflected on the cost of freedom and the ultimate sacrifice paid by those driven to serve by love of country and sense of duty. Daniel King, Microwave/Electro-Optic (MS32) electronics engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division, prepares alignment of various optical components using eye-safe visible lasers. Under the Navy Metrology Research and Development Program, NSWC Corona's E-O Group has developed and patented two calibration standards for support of laser designator and rangefinder test sets. Space-Based Sensors Star in "Stellar Eyes" Missile Defense Test

The Navy's Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System scored another hit for the Missile Defense Agency on the Pacific Missile Range overnight, marking the first live-fire intercept of a medium-range ballistic missile using space-based sensors.
