Technical Assistance

The National Reentry Resource Center will provide on- and off-site training and technical assistance (TTA) to government agencies and nonprofit organizations that are selected to receive grants under the provisions of the Second Chance Act. Resource Center staff will work with each grantee to develop an assessment of the project, understand its goals and objectives, and identify areas where TTA can be of most use to the project team.

Based on this assessment, Resource Center staff will work with each grantee team to design an individual technical assistance plan for each project that reflects the particular goals and objectives identified in the assessment process. As part of the TTA services, Resource Center staff will provide grantees with publications, distance learning sessions, and opportunities to connect with experts and practitioners in a wide variety of fields working on reentry, as well as with peers engaged in similar reentry work.

Technical assistance will be tailored to each grantee and will reflect each jurisdiction’s unique characteristics and resources. Resource Center staff will work closely with each grantee to ensure the applicability and relevance of the assistance.
