9/16/2010 Civic Life in America: Key Findings on the Civic Health of the Nation
  We are pleased to announce the debut of Civic Life in America: Key Findings on the Civic Health of the Nation, the first federal research of its kind that measures how often residents engage in a variety of civic activities, including service, social connectedness, participating in a group, connecting to information and current events, and political action. This research, done in partnership with the National Conference on Citizenship, was authorized by the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act.

5/6/2010 CNCS Disaster Services Integration
  As you know, the Corporation has been undergoing a great deal of change to implement the Serve America Act and to enhance our program delivery and customer service. Recently, our CEO, Patrick Corvington, decided to integrate the CNCS Office of Emergency Management (OEM) into AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC).

4/29/2010 Learn and Serve America Youth Engagement Zone
  The Learn and Serve America Youth Engagement Zone (YEZ) program was newly authorized by the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. YEZ is designed to improve student engagement, including student attendance and behavior, and student achievement, graduation rates and college-going rates.

  Each year, Learn and Serve America conducts a mandatory training for grantees to help equip them with tools, technology, information and resources necessary to manage a Learn and Serve grant. This year’s grantees were recently awarded funding from the 2006 grants competition and will be gathering together for the first time in the fall.
