Arsenic poisoning; Railroad ties, marine pilings, fence posts, and telephone poles may be pressure treated with creosote, pentachlorophenol, and ammoniacal copper arsenate (ACA) or chromated copper arsenate (CCA). [ILO Encyclo, Vol. 3 - Pages 71.1-71.12] Pentachlorophenol, creosote, and chromated copper arsenate were banned for sale in the United States to consumers as wood preservatives. CCA is still used commercially as a wood preservative. [ILO Encyclo, Vol. 3 - Pages 96.1-96.54]
