The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink is open mid-November through mid-March, weather permitting. View magnificent works of sculpture while skating in the open air and enjoying music from the state-of-the-art sound system.

(two-hour sessions, beginning on the hour)

Skate and Locker Rentals
Skate rental: $3.00 (ID required)
Locker rental: $0.50 ($5.00 deposit required)

Season tickets are available for $195.

Ice Rink Hours
Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
Friday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.
Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.

The ice-skating rink will close at 5:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve. The Gallery and Sculpture Garden are closed on December 25 and January 1.

Group and Private Lessons
Guest Services, Inc., offers both group and private skating lessons at the ice rink in the Sculpture Garden. Certified by the United States Figure Skating Association, instructor Alice Shelley teaches skaters of all ages and experience levels. Location and Access
The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink is located on the National Mall at 7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. During the evening, when the Gallery and Sculpture Garden are closed to the public, access to the ice rink and Pavilion Café is restricted to the entrances at Constitution Avenue and Madison Drive near 9th Street.

Pavilion Café
With a panoramic view of the Sculpture Garden, the Pavilion Café serves freshly made wraps, sandwiches, gourmet pizzas, and salads. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, wine, and beer are also available.

During renovation of the Café, limited food and beverage service will be available on the north patio.

Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Friday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Please note: During the evening ice-skating hours, when the National Gallery of Art is closed to the public, the surrounding Sculpture Garden is also closed. Access to the ice-skating rink and Pavilion Café during these times is restricted to the Constitution Avenue and Madison Drive entrances at 9th Street.

DJs in the Garden: Spin, Cut, & Groove
On Thursday, December 6, the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink introduced the new evening event DJs in the Garden: Spin, Cut, & Groove. Even with a chill in the air this winter, skaters can warm up every Thursday night (6:00–9:00 p.m.) with a different guest DJ spinning popular music from the 1960s through today—hip-hop, R&B, disco, pop, rock 'n' roll, soul, and more. Skaters are welcome to make requests and twirl across the ice to their favorite tunes. DJs in the Garden continues through February 28.
