Dr. Deyton seems like a nice person but at the risk of being called a cynic, if people still don’t know that smoking is dangerous to their health and those around them … And what would happen to the good doctor’s job and the other hundreds of thousands of people working for the FDA and other government agencies whose livelihoods are tied to tobacco, if they succeeded at wiping out tobacco usage?
I’m a consultant. If I’m really good at my work, I eliminate the need for my services. Just like the FDA trying to eliminate tobacco, it’s an inherent conflict of interest.

Dr. Deyton said it well, “I think we all know that tobacco is a dangerous product”. Why, in the name of all things great and small, is the federal government wasting my tax dollars advocating against the use of an already legal and regulated product? Outrageous, superfluous and unconstitutional. Period.

The tobacco industry needed a tougher regulation. This is very welcome!
