Risk Factors and Screening (Optimistic but Realistic Goals met)

This model run shows the combined effect on projected CRC mortality through 2020 if optimistic but realistic goals for both risk factors and screening are achieved. Chemotherapy continues at baseline (projected trend) levels.

• Risk factors considered in the models are: smoking status, obesity, physical activity, fruit and vegetable, intake, multivitamin use, red meat intake, aspirin/non-steroidal anti-inflammatory use, postmenopausal hormone replacement therapy (HRT) (females only).
• Screening tests included in the models are Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) and Endoscopy (Sigmoidoscopy or Colonoscopy).
