Dear Herbert Hoover Museum Staff,
Thank you for teaching us about Herbert Hoover. One thing I thought was interesting is that Lou Henry Hoover never cashed in any checks people gave her. Another thing I thought was intersting was when the blacksmith made the metal shape like that. Something I learned was Herbert Hoover saved many lives by giving food to the hungry. Anther thing I learned that he had a small house and his dad and mom died when he was young.

2 things that I learned was that Herbert Hoover’s wife collected weapons and that Herbert Hoover had 2 dogs. Here are 2 other things that were interesing was he and his wife were born the same year. The second interesting thing was that the people in Belgium were actually eating sawdust and other stuff in their bread. Thanks for letting us visit.

Thank you for giving us a tour of the museum. I learned that Herbert Hoover loved fishing and that when he was president he received no money. I found it interesting that the Belgian people sent Herbert Hoover a statue of the Egyptian godess of life, and that the men and women sat separate from the men in the meeting house.

Dear Herbert Hoover Museum Staff,
I had a lot of fun at the field trip! I leared that one of Herbert Hoover’s favorite things was that he loved to fish. I also learned that Herbert Hoover had some Belgian Sheep dogs. I thought that the meeting place was very interesting. How the girls and the boys had to be separated was the interesting part about that. I also thought his house was very cool. The trap door, the bed, and the stove was the best part. I had a great time at the Herbert Hoover Museum!

Thank you for letting me and my classmates come to the museum. Some parts that I liked were the blacksmith, movie, and Herbert Hoover’s childhood home. I think that the gravesite was cool. It makes Iowa more special that Herbert Hoover lived in Iowa. I liked the gift shop because now Ican remember my field trip to the Herbert Hoover Museum

Dear Hoover Museum Staff,
My favorite things that I learned…I learned that Herbert Hoover’s father was a blacksmith and his mother was a seamstress. He died when he was 90 years old. His teacher wanted to adopt him. Beside the church there is a cry room. During wars around the world, he fed starving people. Herbert Hoover married Lou Henry. In his house they had to fit five people in one room. He had an older brother and a younger sister. He was buried on a hill by his house.

I’ve learned a lot about Herbert Hoover. Such as that he was buried on top of a hill by his wife, and he went to Stanford University and became a mining engineer and traveled the world. One thing that I really liked was when the tour guide told us how Herbert Hoover saved over one billion lives! That’s amazing! I’ve learned so much I can’t name them all. So thank you!

I liked the museum and the house that he lived in. I learned that his teacher wanted to adopt him and that in church they separated
the boys and the girls and that the teacher would slap them on their hands. And that his mom died when he was 9 and his father died when her was 6. That is what I liked and I learned.

I learned a lot of stuff today. Some of my favorite things about our wonderful field trip were seeing where they all worked and lived. The museum was so cool! I also liked the interesting letters and things the mom’s made to thank him for all he’s done. One of the most interesting things was the world map on the ground that showed you how many people he gave food to. Herbert Hoover helped out a lot of people.I didn’t know Herbert Hoover got blamed for the Great Depression when he became President of the United States. I’d like to thank you for making us come to your wonderful museum. You guys taught us about Herber Hoover had one older brother, and one little sister. I also liked your awsome giftshop. The giftshop has a lot of items about Herbert Hoover. His first house is a small one bedroom. He was ninety when he died. Just wondering how did he die? Why wasn’t Herbert Hoover buried near his family but just his wife? Also thank you for letting us watch your video in your theater. When did Herbert Hoover get married? He did have to feed the Europeans before they starved to death. Thank you for teaching us and your museum was big and creative. Have a happy year!

Thank you for our great field trip! A few things I liked best were the gravesite, the cottage, and the huge map with all the places Herbert Hoover brought food to the starving. A few of the facts that I found interesting were that his father was a blacksmith and his mother was a seamstress, and that he was a Quaker. Our outside tour was very amazing! Also our inside tour was very cool.

Dear Hoover Musuem Staff,
Thank you for letting us visit. It was very fun. My favorite thing we did/saw there was learning about the blacksmith forge. I liked watching the guy forge the part of the dinner bell. The thing to make or pump the flames higher and hotter. I also liked learning that 1,500 – 2,200 degrees was needed to bend the metal to the shape that you want. Thanks for letting us visit. I hope my parents let me go there again before it closes. I loved all the other part too, and the giftshop was awesome!

1 thing I learned and was interesting was when Herbert Hoover went through his wife’s stuff and found all her checks. Also how Herbert’s birthday is also Sydney Brown’s. Hello my name is Elisha Fry. I go to Bettendorf Iowa school called Neil Armstrong. I’m in 5th grade. When I went inside your museum I wanted to learn about Herber Hoover so bad! When I saw the map of the places he helped, I was amazed. When we walked into his life exhibit, the statues were so real. But it was sad because his dad died when he was 6. Then three years later his mom died. So he had to be an orphan until he went to live with his aunt and uncle. The house that he was raised in was so small and five people had to live in it. They had to cook outside on their porch so they wouldn’t get hot in their house. Well goodbye and thanks for teaching me about Herbert Hoover.

the Herber Hoover museam is awesome I loved. taking the tour we got to see Lou. Herbertver and Herbert hoovers grave and see the. blacksmith shop and the old abandend school house. house and his old house and the movie abought him.
