Nonproliferation – Key Documents

List of resources related to U.S. policy on nuclear nonproliferation

The United States is committed to halting the spread of nuclear weapons around the globe, and to reversing the expectation that people are destined to live in a world with many nuclear-armed states. The United States actively discourages non-nuclear states from acquiring or testing nuclear weapons, and promotes the reduction of existing weapons programs. The materials on this website will show the U.S. commitment toward improving transparency, verification, compliance and mutual confidence among world powers, as well as the U.S. condemnation of dangerous rogue nations with nuclear ambitions.
