The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) is an institute within NIH devoted to merging the physical and biological sciences to develop new technologies that improve health. Through collaboration with RRP, NIBIB engages in multidisciplinary medical physics and bioengineering research and aims to aid in the integration of technologies. RRP collaborative efforts include 3-dimensional imaging for radiation oncology treatment planning, mole­cular diagnostic imaging, and numerous bioinformatics applications. RRP and NIBIB work together to explore new funding mechanisms tailored for image-guided therapy technology development.
