Work Action Plan

2012-2013

  • Strategic Planning and Marketing Programs and Services to the NIH Community -
    Distribution of current program information for the purpose of imbedding these resources into the fabric of the NIH community.
    Action:  Review 2012 efforts and use survey results to gauge effectiveness. Consider additional and alternative outreach efforts in spring 2013.
  • Child Care Subsidy - Monitor enrollment in the subsidy program and, using data supplied by the program management, revue impact of 2012 changes. 
    Action:  Convene Committee in September to consider additional changes.
  • Child and Dependent Care Back-up Care Pilot -  Review the reports form 1st year and consider implementation issues.
    Action:  Convene Committee in September to consider any modifications to the pilot.
  • Child Care Waiting List- Review additional comments and suggestions from employees and Center Directors.
    Action: Convene Committee to consider additional policy changes.
  • Workforce Survey- NIH Workforce Survey to support strategic communications.
    Action: Board review/approve survey instrument. Launch survey in October/November 2012 
  • Workforce planning issues – Complete Literature review and create final report.
    Action: Report to Board in December.
  • Trible Amendment- re-visit the question of legislative changes to the Trible Amendment, specifically related to flexibility of appropriated funds to meet changing demands of a flexible, mobile and younger NIH workforce. Partner with other Federal agencies interested in this issue.
    Action: Convene Committee January

Ongoing Activities:
Northwest Child Care Center – Continue to monitor the progress of this project. 
Special Events and Outreach- participation and co-sponsorship, in seminars, outreach events, all- NIH events and opportunities to engage other interested groups at NIH.
