Inauguration Ticket Requests

Thank you for your interest in the events surrounding the 57th Presidential Inauguration on January 21, 2013.

At this time, we are no longer taking requests for tickets to the Swearing-in ceremony.

Constituents selected to receive tickets will be contacted in the next few weeks and will be provided with detailed pick-up information. Those selected to receive tickets will:

  • be current residents of the State of Connecticut (Non-residents should contact their home state Senators and congressional representative to request tickets.);
  • be required to pick up their tickets in person, with a valid photo ID, in Senator Blumenthal’s Washington, D.C. office on January 18, 19 or 20 (tickets will not be mailed or available for pick up in Connecticut).
  •

Tickets to the inauguration are free to the public and not intended for sale. We will refuse tickets to anyone determined to be selling them.

Demand for tickets to this historic event has far exceeded the supply, so please be aware that not all constituents who placed a request will receive tickets to the event.

Inaugural Parade Information

The Joint Task Force-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR) is no longer accepting applications from organizations wishing to participate in the Inaugural Parade. This includes bands, both marching and mounted units, and floats.

All applications collected and organized by JTF-NCR will be reviewed by the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC), which will be appointed by the President-Elect. The PIC will select which organizations will participate in the Inaugural Parade. This selection process normally occurs in mid-December. Applicants will be notified by the PIC of their selection or non-selection at that time.

Constituents with additional questions about the parade can contact the JTF-NCR Parade Band Control office directly at (202) 685-8210, or via email at: 2013inaugurationparade@jfhqncr.northcom.mil.

Inaugural Ball Information

Many inaugural balls and galas will take place at venues throughout Washington, DC following the Inauguration. The official balls planned by the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) are usually by invitation only. Congressional offices are not provided tickets for distribution to constituents.

Similarly, unofficial balls, galas, and parties are planned by the State Societies of Washington, D.C. and a variety of other local and national organizations. These are ticketed events to which the prices of admission vary. Congressional offices do not receive tickets for constituents to any of these events.
