Health Promotion and Wellness

The Health Promotion and Wellness Program offers NCI-Frederick employees opportunities to learn and practice healthful behaviors and to integrate health promotion and disease prevention activities into all aspects of their work life.

  • Individual Counseling by OHS' health professionals on topics such as nutrition, weight management, and smoking cessation.

  • Cholesterol and Cancer Screenings are included as part of the periodic physical examinations and lab work offered to all employees. Referrals for mammograms and instruction in breast self-examination are a routine part of these screenings.

  • An annual Influenza Vaccine Clinic is held in the fall, providing employees with a convenient and cost-free means of protection from the influenza virus.
