Government Initiatives in Project Management, Program Management, and Acquisition Management

Since the 1990s, the Federal government has recognized that for the government to function effectively, civil servants and contractors must become proficient in project management, program management and acquisition management. All Federal agencies are now required to establish career tracks in acquisition management – which require employees to develop advanced skills in areas such as project management, program management, contracting, and logistics. As a Strategic Partner of the Defense Acquisition University, UMT has developed programs to help government employees and contractors to pursue careers that will enable them to take advantage of current developments in the Federal sector.

Executive Certificate in Acquisition Management

Courses in the Acquisition Management certificate program enable government employees and contractors to get up to speed on current developments in acquisition reform. The Office of Federal Procurement Policy put teeth in the implementation of these laws with the publication of Policy Letter 05-01 in 2005. Federal employees may use the courses in this program to meet their Level I, II, and III certification requirements. Government contractors can get up to speed on the latest government requirements pertaining to major systems acquisition. More Info »
