Center For Cancer Research DCEG National Cancer Institute

NCI Center of Excellence in Immunology

The Center of Excellence in Immunology (CEI) is one of 5 Centers of Excellence within the NCI Intramural Research Program (IRP). These Centers are multi-disciplinary venues that generate connections among diverse intellectual, financial, and physical resources within the IRP to help develop new initiatives, projects, and collaborations that reduce the burden of cancer.

Mission

To foster discovery, development, and delivery of novel immunologic approaches for the prevention and treatment of cancer and cancer-associated viral diseases.

Work in the CEI spans the continuum from basic science discoveries to clinical research applications, and seeks to facilitate high-impact contributions that:

  • Challenge or redefine existing paradigms
  • Develop or employ novel concepts, approaches, methodologies, tools, and technologies
  • Translate successfully into clinical practice

Frontiers in Basic Immunology: 2012

The Center of Excellence in Immunology is sponsoring a conference called "Frontiers in Basic Immunology".  This conference will be held October 4-5, 2012 at Masur and Lipsett Auditorium (Building 10) on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland.  More information on the program and registration will be available in mid-March.
