This output graph generated by HD*Calc shows age-adjusted lung cancer incidence rates in Hispanic men by socioeconomic status (SES).

The Health Disparities Calculator (HD*Calc) is statistical software designed to evaluate and monitor health disparities, or health differences that are closely linked with social, economic, and/or environmental disadvantages. HD*Calc, which was developed by NCI's Applied Research Program and Surveillance Research Program, can be used as an extension of SEER*Stat software — allowing users to import SEER data — or with other population-based health data. Though originally designed to evaluate health disparities related to cancer, HD*Calc can be used with any dataset and in any research arena. HD*Calc can produce 11 summary measures of disparity and generate both data tables and graphs, which can be easily exported. These visualizations allow users to explore underlying trends in their data.
