This Week in CTP - Week of December 17, 2012

This Week in CTP – Funding Opportunity Announcement and Back in 2013

On December 18th , a new Funding Opportunity Announcement  (FOA) titled, “NIH Revision Applications for Research Relevant to the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act” was published. NIH and FDA have formed an interagency partnership to foster research relevant to tobacco regulations. The awards under this FOA will be administered by NIH using designated funds from the FDA Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) for tobacco regulatory science mandated by the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, Public Law 111-31. Projects resulting from this FOA are expected to serve the FDA by generating relevant findings and data needed to inform the regulation of the manufacture, distribution, and marketing of tobacco products to protect public health.

This Week in CTP will be back in 2013! We encourage everyone to make this new year a healthier, tobacco-free year. Visit the CTP website for more information about the dangers of tobacco use and to find resources to help you quit.
