FY 2012 President's Budget for HHS

The Health and Human Services (HHS) FY 2012 Budget supports the Department's mission to enhance the health and well-being of Americans by providing for effective health and human services and by fostering sound, sustained advances in the sciences underlying medicine, public health, and social services. Among the topics presented on this site are:

HHS Budget in Brief and Performance Highlights

The HHS Budget in Brief (PDF - 122 Pages) provides an overview of the HHS budget and how the budget supports the major initiatives of the Department.

The FY 2010 HHS Summary of Performance and Financial Information (PDF - 12 Pages) provides a synopsis of the Department’s performance and financial information over the past fiscal year as well as major HHS initiatives.

The Strategic Plan Detail Report (PDF - 108 Pages) is a list of illustrative examples of performance measures that support the FY 2010 – 2015 Strategic Plan.  In 2010 there were more than 1,050 performance measures used by the 16 Operating and Staff Divisions of HHS to demonstrate the effect of federal funding for the American people.  This sub-set of 80 measures most closely exemplifies how HHS will monitor, manage and measure performance and the achievement of the Strategic Plan.  The performance trends and expected progress for each of these 80 strategic plan measures are described in detail in the report.
