What is the explanation for stopping growth of benign tumors? A mole stops growing and doesn't become a melanoma. Related to this question, I believe, is the 1920s Studies on Tumour Formation by the British pathologist G. W. Nicholson. Nicholson focused on tissue malformations. Do they ever become neoplasms?
