IAPAC acquired and will re-launch in 2013 a global myHIVclinic webportal focused on the clinical management of HIV- and age-related comorbidities. Click here to view the press release announcing the acquisition and IAPAC’s plans for myHIVclinic.org.

In response to the need to facilitate the integration of HCV management into primary care settings in the United States, IAPAC announced a partnership with The Alliance of Chicago and the National Association of Community Health Centers to pilot an EHR-based approach to HCV clinical management in community health center settings. Impacting the HIV Epidemic: The Role of Treatment as Prevention and Preexposure Prophylaxis is an online CME activity released August 17, 2012, by Medscape, LLC, in collaboration with IAPAC. The activity features an expert interview with Dr. Kenneth Mayer, Co-Chair of the Controlling the HIV Epidemic with Antiretrovirals evidence summit held June 11-12, 2012, in London. This activity is designated for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.

On March 5, 2012, the Annals of Internal Medicine e-published IAPAC’s new Guidelines for Improving Entry into and Retention in Care and Antiretroviral Adherence for Persons with HIV. GALEN Exam

The GALEN Exam is a multiple-choice question exam testing critical areas of HIV clinical management. It is now available electronically for physicians in:

  • Australia (English)
  • Canada (English)
  • Sub-Saharan Africa (English and French)
  • Western Europe (English)

Additional regional versions and translations into other languages will be available soon.

Physicians who pass the exam with a score of 70% or higher earn a “Certificate of Clinical Competence in HIV Medicine.” Click here to learn more about or to register online to take the GALEN Exam.

Optimizing Entry into and Retention in HIV Care and ART Adherence: Implementing New IAPAC Guidelines

This AIDS 2012 Satellite Session will focus on recently published IAPAC guidelines that outline evidence-based interventions to improve entry into and retention in HIV care, as well as antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence (Thompson MA et al. Ann Intern Med. 2012 Jun 5;156(11):817-833.) for HIV-positive individuals.

“Implementing IAPAC Entry into and Retention in Care and Antiretroviral Adherence Guidelines in Clinical Practice: A Multidisciplinary Case Study-Based Activity” will be launched in Fall 2012. The activity is based on the recently published Guidelines for Improving Entry Into and Retention in Care and Antiretroviral Adherence for Persons With HIV (Thompson MA et al. Ann Intern Med. 2012 Jun 5;156(11):817-833.). This CE-accredited educational activity will be available to physicians, nurse-practitioners/nurses, pharmacists, and psychologists.
