The Historical Statistics on Banking (HSOB) provides annual statistical information on the banking industry beginning in 1934. These data can be used to identify and analyze long-term trends and to develop benchmarks to evaluate the current condition of the banking and thrift industries.

The HSOB contains aggregated data from individual financial reports filed by FDIC-insured commercial banks and savings institutions. These aggregated data are also available for individual states, U.S. territories and U.S. possessions. For the most current quarterly aggregate data, please refer to the Statistics on Banking

FDIC provides financial and structural data about individual institutions in the Institution Directory (ID).
