Data Revisions

These data changes are reflected in both the web-based database and the stand-alone software.

  • 2012 Data (May 21, 2012)
    • For disease 9659/3 Nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma, the ”[OBS] see 9651/3” has been removed.  This is not an obsolete term.
    • Change to the transformation data for “Solitary plasmacytoma of bone” to “9732/3 Multiple Myeloma”.
    • Changed code 9680 to add “Cytology (for primary CNS lymphoma only)” to the definitive diagnosis section.
  • 2010 Data (May 16, 2012)
    • Many of the diseases had additional primaries added to their “Same Primaries” field. This is why the ‘Data last updated’ date is May 16, 2012.

2012 Manual Revisions (version 2.1)

These data changes are reflected in both the web-based database and the stand-alone software.

  • Rule M12 on page 72: deleted the text “Simultaneously or”.
  • PH 16 on page 79: the code for DLBCL was changed from 9698/3 to 9680/3.
  • Appendix A on page 101: the code 9751/3 was changed to 9754/3.
  • Appendix D on page 117-118: ALK Positive Large B-Cell Lymphoma 9737/3 was added to the Alphabetic and Numeric List.

Manual Revisions

This is a summary of the changes in the 2012 Hematopoietic Manual. Changes such as correcting typographical errors, breaking one of the modules into two modules, and updating the notes, “This is a change from previous rules” to “This is a change from pre-2010 rules”, are not included in this outline.

Introduction: Three new paragraphs

  1. Transformations: Chronic Neoplasm to Acute Neoplasm
  2. Steps in Priority Order for Using the Heme DB and Hematopoietic Coding Manual
