Biography/History note | Adolph Bolm (b. Sept. 25, 1884 in St. Petersburg, Russia; d. April 18, 1951 in Hollywood, Calif.) was a ballet dancer, choreographer, ballet master, and dance teacher. |
Summary | The collection documents Bolm's career both in Russia and the United States with various companies, including Ballets Russes de Serge Diaghilev, Ballet Intime, Adolph Bolm Ballet, Chicago Civic Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Ballet Theatre. It contains photographs, including many of Bolm in costume for various dance roles and with Tamara Karsavina, his frequent partner from the Ballets Russes.
