Extended Outage of Production Systems Scheduled for July 24
There will be a total service outage of no more than 4 hours from 12:01 am to 4:00 am (at the latest) for all Titan systems on Sunday, July 24, 2011.
This work is the first stage of a three-stage project to upgrade Titan's central processing units (CPUs) to the latest technology. Completing stage 1 of the upgrade allows us to install additional capacity in time for year-end processing during stage 2 of the upgrade, scheduled for mid-August.
The upgrade will begin at 10 pm, July 23rd, but we do not anticipate any disruption to the system during the first part of the upgrade. Titan will continue to be up from 10 PM to midnight, until the scheduled service outage begins at 12:01 am, July 24.
