Name

Behavioral Science Core (Pediatric Oncology Branch, CCR)

Expertise

Specialized research support to NCI intramural clinical trials using neuropsychological and quality of life (QOL) outcome measures; develops protocols to investigate specific psychosocial and neuropsychological effects of chronic illness.

Location

Building 10 - Hatfield Clinical Research Center, Room 1-6466, Bethesda

Fee Structure

Name

Biostatistics and Data Management Section (Office of the Clinical Director, CCR)

Expertise

Biostatistical methods related to clinical and pre-clinical trial design and analysis.

Location

6116 Executive Blvd., Room 702, Bethesda

Name

Blood Processing Core (Office of the Clinical Director, CCR)

Expertise

The Blood Processing Core (BPC) can assist investigators within the NIH Clinical Center in the collection and processing of biological specimens (biological fluids). All samples will be processed according to the clinical protocol, bar-coded, and then entered into a database for sample handling and storage purposes. The BPC can handle the shipment of samples to intramural or extramural laboratories.

Location

Building 10, Room 5A01, Bethesda

Name

Clinical Molecular Profiling Core (Genetics Branch, CCR)

Expertise

Development and implementation of new genomic technologies in support of CCR clinical trials. Expertise includes DNA sequencing (Sanger and Next-gen), mRNA and miRNA expression analysis, epigenomic methylation testing, array comparative genomic hybridization, QPCR, and data analysis support (pre- and post-study) for study collaborators.

Location

Building 37, Room 6138/6144, Bethesda and NCI Advanced Technology Center, Room 134A-1, Gaithersburg

Note:   Funding for assays is provided by collaborating investigators.

Name

Clinical Pharmacology Program (Office of the Clinical Director, CCR)

Expertise

The Clinical Pharmacology Program (CPP) is dedicated to assessing the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of clinical trials conducted within the NCI intramural program. The program provides bioanalytical support (LC-MS), pharmacokinetic analysis, and modeling of investigational agents or combination therapies. The CPP can  also assist with determining protein binding, drug-drug interactions, concentration-effect analysis, drug metabolism and routes of elimination for new anticancer agents.

Location

Building 10, Room 5A01, Bethesda

Name

Laboratory of Pathology, CCR

Expertise

The Laboratory of Pathology conducts all of the diagnostic anatomic pathology for all the patients undergoing clinical trials in the NCI and in the NIH Clinical Center, for all patients being considered for entry into clinical trials, and for epidemiologic and case studies of disease pathophysiology.

Location

Building 10 - Magnuson Clinical Center, Room 2N208, Bethesda

Fee Structure

Note:  LP services are dedicated to NIH clinical investigators who are conducting clinical trials at the NIH Clinical Center.

Name

Pharmacogenetics Core (Office of the Clinical Director, CCR)

Expertise

The Pharmacogenetics Core is responsible for correlating outcome observations (side effects, efficacy or pharmacokinetics results) with genetic variance (mutations or somatic) to identify key genetic determinants and biomarkers that predict response to specific treatments.

Location

Building 10, Room 5A01, Bethesda
