How do I apply for Retirement benefits?

You can apply for retirement benefits using our Benefit Application. Just answer the questions and select the "Sign Now" button.

If you are helping someone complete the application, refer to Helping a relative, neighbor, or friend apply for Social Security benefits online.
You also can apply by calling 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. A representative will schedule an appointment to take your application over the telephone or at any local Social Security office.
