World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-07)

Unprecedented progress in the development of radiocommunication services has resulted in an increased demand for radio-frequency spectrum. Radio-frequency spectrum, however, is a limited natural resource that has to be shared among nations on regional and global basis. For that reason, under the auspices of the United Nations, the World Radiocommunication Conferences are periodically convened to consider the regulatory framework to manage the international use of radio-frequency spectrum in a rational and equitable manner.

The next World Radiocommunication Conference is scheduled to take place in 2007. The decisions of WRC-07 will have significant implications for U.S. consumers and the industry. Public participation, therefore, plays a very important role in our preparations for WRC-07. In order to provide a structured forum for deliberations and the consideration of the public views, the FCC has set up an Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee for WRC-07 (WAC) is chartered by the FCC in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. Information on the WAC and other WRC-07 preparatory activities is provided on this website. I encourage you to examine this information, participate in the preparations for WRC-07, and provide feedback. Whether you attend committee meetings or wish to participate by e-mail, phone, fax or written comments, we welcome your input and appreciate your interest.
