Montrose Parking Lot

The NIH leases 150 parking spaces at this commuter parking area for the convenience of employees and summer student.  This satellite lot alleviates and reduces traffic congestion around the NIH Bethesda campus.  NIH employees working at off campus facilities with no shuttle service can park at this satellite lot and catch the NIH Shuttle to campus.    

 The Montrose Parking Lot is located on Montrose Road and Hoya Street. The parking spaces are located along the northern boundary of the shopping center nearest Montrose Parkway. The designated area will be marked with signage by Montgomery County, "North Bethesda Permits Only", but Montgomery County will continue to recognize and honor the NIH Parking Permits.

To park at this commuter lot, NIH employees must display an "NIH Mirror Hanging Parking Permit" or Summer Student Parking Permit. There is no fee to park at the Montrose Commuter Satellite Lot.

Effective July 2, 2012, the satellite parking lot at Mid-Pike Plaza will move to a new location.  New location is on Montrose Road and Hoya Street. 

Directions to New Montrose Parking Lot: 

From points to the North:
Travel south on Rockville Pike (MD-355).  Take a right onto Hoya St (Immediately after traffic light at Hubbard Dr) and travel approximately 0.1 miles. Take a left into the commuter parking lot at Montrose Rd.

From points to the East:
Travel west on Randolph Rd, passing through the underpass at Rockville Pike (MD-355).  Continue approximately 0.2 miles and make a right onto Hoya St.  Travel 200 ft. and make a right into the  commuter parking lot at Montrose Rd.

From points to the South:
Travel north on Rockville Pike (MD-355).  Follow signs for Montrose Pkwy and Randolph Rd, (be sure to stay in the right hand lane)  The off ramp from MD-355 will be immediately following the intersection  of MD-355 and the commuter parking lot entrance (near the old satellite parking lot).  At the light on the off ramp, take a left onto westbound Montrose Pkwy and pass under MD-355.  ).  Continue approximately 0.2 miles and make a right onto Hoya St.  Travel 200 ft. and make a right into the commuter parking lot at Montrose Rd.

From points to the West:
Travel east on Montrose Parkway.  Take a left at Hoya St.  Travel 200 ft. and make a right onto the commuter parking lot at Montrose Rd.
