John Storrs, Auto Tower, Industrial Forms (part B), c. 1922
A pioneering figure in the development of American modernist sculpture, Storrs (1885-1956) had a lifelong interest in the interrelationship of sculpture and architecture. This gift from Deborah and Ed Shein is on view alongside its counterpart, part A. When turned horizontally, the two sculptures are transformed from skyscraper tower forms into sleek automobiles.
