Draft Taxonomies

2013 U.S. GAAP Draft Taxonomy Release

The 2013 U.S. GAAP taxonomy has been published for public comment by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and is available at http://www.fasb.org/jsp/FASB/Page/SectionPage&cid=1176160285047. The public comment period will end on October 29, 2012. Comments on this taxonomy should be submitted directly into the FASB’s taxonomy viewer. The SEC staff encourages filers, investors, analysts, software service providers and other interested parties to participate in this public review to continue to improve the process for creating and using XBRL tagged financial statements.

Upon completion of the public comment period and consideration of the feedback, the taxonomies will be finalized and ultimately made available for use with the Commission’s systems which the staff expects to happen in early 2013. Indication that the updated taxonomy is available for use will be made via the standard taxonomies page at http://www.sec.gov/info/edgar/edgartaxonomies.shtml.

Form SD Draft Taxonomy

The SEC staff is seeking public comment on the draft Form SD taxonomy for disclosure of payments by resource extraction issuers. The staff encourages filers, investors, analysts, software service providers and other interested parties to participate in this public review to continue to improve the process for creating and using XBRL tagged information.

The taxonomy is available at http://www.sec.gov/info/edgar/edgartaxonomies_d.shtml. Please provide comments on the draft Form SD taxonomy via http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/contact_risk_fin using "Draft Form SD Taxonomy" in the "General subject matter" section no later than October 31, 2012.
