EDGARLink Online XML Technical Specification (Version 8)

Implementation Date: January 14, 2013

The EDGARLink Online XML Technical Specification (Version 8) provides, to those filers that are interested, a basis for creating EDGARLink Online submissions without the use of the EDGARLink Online Application. The expectation is that software developers, working on behalf of filers, will be able to construct software that will generate an EDGARLink Online submission that can be successfully processed by the EDGAR system.

EDGAR Release 13.0 introduced the following change to the EDGARLink Online XML Technical Specification (Version 8):

• Addition of IRANNOTICE submission type to the enumeration in the eis_SingleFiler.xsd
   
• Deletion of the appendices listing the common XML elements. These appendices had redundant information included in the tables, schema and sample files.

Form N-SAR DOS-based Application Retirement Update:

No sooner than April 2013 (the specific deployment date will be communicated in the near future), the DOS-based application to create Form N-SAR documents will be retired. Once retired, filings created by the DOS-based application will no longer be accepted through the EDGARLink Online application and Form N-SAR will only be able to be filed using a new online version of the form that will be available on the EDGAR Filing Website or constructed by filers according to the new EDGAR N-SAR XML Technical Specification.

The Following changes will be deployed at the time the new online Form N-SAR is implemented.

• Submission form types NSAR-A, NSAR-A/A, NSAR-AT, NSAR-AT/A, NSAR-B, NSAR-B/A, NSAR-BT, NSAR-BT/A, NSAR-U, and NSAR-U/A will then be accessible by selecting the "File Form N-SAR" link on the EDGAR Filing Website.
   
• The schema file "eis_Common.xsd" will be updated to remove the following submission types: NSAR-A, NSAR-A/A, NSAR-AT, NSAR-AT/A, NSAR-B, NSAR-B/A, NSAR-BT, NSAR-BT/A, NSAR-U, and NSAR-U/A.
   
• The schema file "eis_CoReg_SC.xsd" will be updated to remove the following submission types: NSAR-A, NSAR-A/A, NSAR-AT, NSAR-AT/A, NSAR-B, NSAR-B/A, NSAR-BT, and NSAR-BT/A.

In the EDGARLink Online XML Technical Specification:

• Table 1-6: CoReg SC will be updated to remove submission types NSAR-A, NSAR-A/A, NSAR-AT, NSAR-AT/A, NSAR-B, NSAR-B/A, NSAR-BT, and NSAR-BT/A.
   
• Table 3.4.20.3: Mapping of Subject CoReg SC Submission Schemas to Submission Types will be updated to remove submission types NSAR-A, NSAR-A/A, NSAR-AT, NSAR-AT/A, NSAR-B, NSAR-B/A, NSAR-BT, and NSAR-BT/A.
   
• In the EDGAR filings common XML elements, in the simpleType SUBMISSION_TYPE, submission form types NSAR-A, NSAR-A/A, NSAR-AT, NSAR-AT/A, NSAR-B, NSAR-B/A, NSAR-BT, NSAR-BT/A, NSAR-U and NSAR-U/A will be removed.
   
• In the EDGAR fee bearing filings common XML elements, in the element FEE_OFFSET_TYPE/offsetFormType, submission form types NSAR-A, NSAR-A/A, NSAR-AT, NSAR-AT/A, NSAR-B, NSAR-B/A, NSAR-BT, NSAR-BT/A, NSAR-U and NSAR-U/A will be removed.
