31 January 2013 Briefing on Vice President Biden's Trip to Europe  "Finally, we get to Monday evening.  The meetings are Tuesday.  Tuesday morning, the Vice President and Dr. Biden will visit with our embassy staff.  And then the Vice President will go to 10 Downing Street.  He’ll have a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Clegg followed by a working lunch with Prime Minister Cameron.  And then the Vice President will join a meeting of the United Kingdom’s National Security Council, chaired by Prime Minister Cameron.  There again, I would expect the issues to be many of the ones he will have covered in meetings with Chancellor Merkel and President Hollande, including Syria, Afghanistan, North Africa, Iran, and the economic relationship between the United States and Europe, which is a very good segue to my friend and colleague Mike Froman."

25 January 2013 Assistant Secretary for Conflict and Stabilization Operations Travels to Brussels and London   Assistant Secretary for Conflict and Stabilization Operations Rick Barton will travel to Brussels, Belgium, January 27-29 and to London, England, January 30-February 1.   In London, Assistant Secretary Barton will co-host the Stabilization Leaders Forum with Lindy Cameron, the Director of the UK’s Stabilisation Unit. The Forum will cover conflict prevention, response, and civilian capacity.

23 January 2013 Vice President Biden, Dr. Jill Biden to Travel to Germany, France and the United Kingdom   In London, the Vice President will meet with Prime Minister David Cameron, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, and other members of the Cabinet.  At all stops, the Vice President will discuss with key leaders a full range of bilateral, regional and global issues.

10 January 2013 Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta Jacobson Travels to Spain, the United Kingdom, and Belgium  Assistant Secretary Jacobson will travel to London on January 16. She will meet with senior British government officials to discuss bilateral and global issues. She will review cooperation in the region since December 2011, when bilateral consultations on Latin American and Caribbean issues last took place.

Gordon will travel to the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Ireland January 7-11   Assistant Secretary Gordon will travel to London on January 9, where he will meet with senior British government officials to discuss a range of bilateral and global issues . At the start of the United Kingdom’s G8 presidency, Assistant Secretary Gordon will also meet with senior officials to review our broad cooperation in that forum, as well as in the G20, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and the European Union (EU).

05 October 2012 Statement by the U.S. Embassy on the Extradition of Five Terrorism Suspects to the U.S. for Trial   The United States is pleased that the UK judicial authorities approved the extraditions of Abu Hamza al-Masri, Adel Abdul Bary, Khalid al-Fawwaz, Babar Ahmad, and Syed Talha Ahsan to the United States to face prosecution in U.S. courts on terrorism charges.  These individuals are being transferred to the United States.

28 September 2012 Princess Anne Unveils U.K Memorial to WWII U.S. Airmen   Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, officially dedicated three memorial stones for U.S. visiting forces at the Greenham Business Park in Greenham Common, England.  The three-part memorial is in remembrance of 16 airmen killed when two B-17 Flying Fortresses collided above Greenham Common on December 15, 1944; 33 service members who died three days earlier when their Horsa glider crashed on takeoff at the base; and all American servicemen who were based locally and lost their lives in World War II.

18 September 2012 ISAF clarifies information on partnering with ANSF  (via NATO.int)     Recent media coverage regarding a change in ISAF's model of Security Force Assistance (SFA) to the Afghan National Security Forces is not accurate. ISAF remains absolutely committed to partnering with, training, advising and assisting our ANSF counterparts. The ISAF SFA model is focused at the battalion level and above, with exceptions approved by senior commanders. Partnering occurs at all levels, from Platoon to Corps. This has not changed.

The goal is to have 100 percent of all eligible UK travelers signed on by January 12 - just one month from now - when ESTA registration in advance of travel becomes mandatory.
