Dr. Braun, a research meteorologist with Goddard Space Flight Center, provides an overview of questions that motivate NASA's research on hurricanes and describes how NASA addresses these questions with the use of satellites, aircraft field campaigns, computer modeling, and other instrumentation that are used to interpret hurricanes.
Speaker Biography: Dr. Braun is a research meteorologist who studies hurricanes from the inside out. He has a doctorate in atmospheric sciences from the University of Washington and a bachelor's degree in science with a concentration in meteorology from San Francisco State University. He has worked for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center since 1997 and received numerous awards including the Goddard Honor Award for Earth Science Achievement and the NASA Exceptional Science Achievement Medal.
