This is poster number thirty-five and the title is Helping Navigate the Care and Use of Research Animals. This royal blue poster displays a white light house and tower that have red roofs located on the left side of the poster and a boat on the right bottom quadrant being directed by the light house’s beam of light. A cartoon-like blonde woman in a light blue surgical suit is piloting the gray boat with the Public Health Service emblem on its bow. The boat also contains animals arranged from left to right starting with a white mouse, brown monkey, white rabbit, green frog, pink pig and white sheep. There is also a school of gray and black zebrafish preceding the boat under the water line and all of them are looking at the light tower that has a hardcopy of the revised Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals – Eighth Edition on it. Just above the image of the Guide is the word Revised in black letters on a yellow star burst shape to bring attention to it. If available, gently used copies can be requested from the NIH Office of Animal Care and Use at SecOACU@od.nih.gov . The subtitle at the bottom of the poster is NIH Animal Research Advisory Committee, 301-496-5424. The DHHS, NIH and OACU logos are also shown on the poster.
